In which areas do you expect PostgreSQL to grow most and how does your company contribute to and benefit from that growth?

The continued enhancement of performance and scalability features makes PostgreSQL an even more compelling choice for enterprises dealing with large and complex datasets. Postgres has evolved into a robust ecosystem, serving not only classical transaction processing, but also powering real-time analytics, data pipelines, and AI applications.

As PostgreSQL consultancy we see major growth in the demand for advanced data streaming, Change Data Capture (CDC), and cost-optimized scaling in the cloud.

At Data Egret, we support this growth by helping companies design PostgreSQL architectures that are resilient, scalable, and ready for real-time data movement. Our team works hands-on with clients to implement CDC strategies, optimize performance, and manage costs — especially for teams needing real-time analytics without blowing their cloud budget. We also contribute to the ecosystem through tooling, community support, and conference engagement.

What is your PostgreSQL-centered product and what makes it unique?

Our core offering is high-level PostgreSQL expertise tailored to our clients’ specific needs — from architectural reviews and performance tuning to cloud cost optimization, security audits, and hands-on implementation of CDC pipelines.

Many of our clients rely on PostgreSQL not just for transactional workloads, but to feed real-time analytics, power event-driven systems, or stream changes into other environments. We help them implement CDC using tools like logical decoding, Debezium, and Flink, ensuring high performance and reliable data flow across systems.

Which of your company’s contributions to the PostgreSQL Project (code/community/conference/sponsorship) are you most proud of?

As a company built on PostgreSQL’s success, supporting the community has always been one of our core pillars.

Our team actively contributes to the broader Postgres ecosystem — from improving key open-source tools like pgBackRest and Patroni, to translating the PostgreSQL Code of Conduct into multiple languages. We’re also engaged in community outreach: organizing and speaking at local meetups across Europe, and serving on PgUS and Postgres Europe committees and boards.

In addition, we develop and maintain a variety of tools that simplify PostgreSQL administration — all of which are freely available on our GitHub.
